I found this today in my wonderings....

http://geoffg.net/maximite.html

Something like the Raspberry Pi, but I thought somebody might like the specs of this one.

Build it yourself for $40, and it has 20 pins that can talk to Arduino stuff.

That is pretty neat. My neighbor was talking about trying to get his PC to control a fountain and/or bird bath top up thing going but he only knows BASIC so this would be a good option for him. Easier than fiddling with interrupts and serial/parallel crap on Windows.

PICAXE stuff is also basic(ish) driven so might be an option for your neighbour as well.

Yeah I think he was using a stamp or something? Seems like it would be easier to use these little jobbies instead of trying use a PC to do I/O stuff. Reminds me more like the home computers of my youth.

Hey DD,

If your neighbor is using a Parallax "STAMP" I'd be very interested in what he is doing.
