Are you human?: could be I guess
Location: Republic of Gnash
unfortunately couldn't get back in the arvo but enjoyed catching up with the crew.
I have two new converts though, my brother is looking at a two bed system and our old man will see how it goes and will probably get into it as well.
Hope you all had fun.

Wish my plants looked like those. What sort of shade do they get - I'm sure mine are getting far too much sun, being in full sun almost all day

Same here.
Mine are definitely getting too much sun.
It's strange if you look, the plants at the back of my GB are taller and happier and the ones are the front are burnt and shorter.
This is because I believe, of the shadow caused by next door's house, shielding afternoon sun gradually from the back of the beds to the front.

Too much sun is something we know a lot about - we use shading material. I don't know about up there, but down here it is not very expensive. Aside from collecting moss sometimes during the rainy season, pretty much trouble free.

CRTD - yep, keep meaning to get some shade cloth over the grow-bed - but have to decide how i am going to keep it there (ie on what sort of structure). The system is really in a temporary position (evethough 18 months so far ) - with the intention to move everything behind the shed into a greenhouse in due course. Betta get some shade up though - otherwise I won't be getting any quality green leaf stuff this summer (the toms are doing okay and have plenty of fruit as are the eggplants and chillis).

Me too Steve (in March I think) - but I prefer to think of it as 18 months at this stage

A few update pictures. Things are progressing well in the main system here at the shop, the barra are eating lots and putting on some great growth. The plants are doing even better, the pictures below are the plant growth at 7-8 weeks from system installation. And the first big harvest from the system that Faye and I did yesterday, which is 10 weeks of growth, the harvest hardly made a dent in the growbeds, I've already been out today and eaten a few more cherry and pear tomatoes today straight from the system.

Also a picture of a nice little frog in one of the small systems.. :)
