Are you human?: I wonder sometimes.

The reason I ask in particular is I am having one hell of a time trying to find a good source to obtain my plumbing parts from. I need a good source for bulkheads, PVC and various other fittings, valves, etc.

I've found a wood supplier, aquariums, pumps, food grade PE plastic tubs, etc. The plumbing is the one thing I just can't seem to source... I have a couple of friends who might be able/willing to assist me but I was hoping a fellow enthusiast might already have found some good sources.

That and it would be pretty cool to meet someone local who is hooked on aquaponics :D

Wasn't me, though I do love Australia and it sounds like it would be a lot of fun to work with you folks

I'm actually an IT guy by trade, previously hardware & networking but spent the last couple years doing web application development so I could stay home with my kids. Though if this software I've been working on for the last year is successful I'd like to do what I've always dreamed of - buy some land and get into agriculture & sustainability education (like what you folks are already doing).

Hi Soju,

I live in Australia, but was born in SK.
I am thinking that some day i will set up an aquaponics farm/garden for a community in Jeju.
Now i know where to get plumbing parts. Thanks.

Hope to hear about the progress of your system.
By the way, your English and your name makes me wonder whether you may not be a Korean person.

I wondered:
Where in a residence in metro Seoul can you have an aquaponics set up?
Inside an high rise apartment?

Sorry for late reply, been busy the last couple of months.

On a small scale, you can do it in a south facing window with a large aquarium and perhaps 2-3 square meters worth of grow beds. On a larger scale there are many roof terraces where people already have existing gardens - I'm sure you are aware that ssam and gochu are quite popularly grown by families all over the city hehe.

I was also looking at jeju being an ideal place for a larger scale semi-commercial aquaponics operation I am not surprised that you mentioned it. :)
