I was just reading an article about the Cypriot government looting all the bank deposits in their country today, and saw that backyardaquaponics.com gets mentioned - as the last link in the article at the bottom, under the "How to protect yourself from government theft" section.

They were probably lured here by certain ramblings on government conspiracies, guns laws, and self sustainability in event of hostile government, while researching their story...wonder who's responsible for that :P

The governement theft angle is rather funny IMO

Cyprus is a taxshelter within the Europan Union (EU) one of 29 countrys with Euro as currency.
They grant citizenship to any rich person that wants to avoid tax by their home country (country of origin)
I gues thats fine ?

Now they are in deep shit, the global financial chrisis have finaly caught up with them

So they ask EU to save their banks wich are technicaly bankrupt

So EU taxpayers are asked to save EU taxpayer runaways (EU are asked to save(bail out) cypriotic banks)

This does not chime wery well to the ordinary, EU taxpayers so EU are demanding something in return to save (bail out) the banks of cyprus.

So what are this demands by EU ?
Simply that Cyprus have to chip in their part, if they want to be bailed out by taxpayers from the other 28 countrys (the rest of EU).

EU demands that the Cypriotic governement put a fee from 6% to 10 % on the money that are deposited in the Cypriotic banks, and give shares in those same banks in return to dose people "loosing their money"

IMO this is not theft nor looting by a government, on the bank depositers, it's a genorus offer from EU.

I hope Cyprus turns down the offer and their banks go bankrupt with the tax renegades loosing all their money, saving the rest of EU tax payers from yet another bailout.

What a joke of a news article really

cheers

So is the EU asking Spain, Greece, Ireland, Italy.... or other EU member states.... to fleece 10% of depositors bank accounts... to pay for the fleecing of EU financial institutions... by the institution bankers....

What a joke....

Personally.. I think the free market should have been left to do what a free market is supposed to do...

And the banks allowed to fail.... and then every single one of the dodgey bastards responsible for causing the banks/financial institutions failures... should have been arrested... and jailed for life....

Or publically stoned...

It's not even EU financial institutions being bailed out by EU, it's Cypriotic.
And the money is not confiscated (stolen) they are locked in shares in the banks, so they can sell the shares now at low value or wait untill the value bounces back, all they (the depositers) are demanded is to hold shares in their own banks at the rate of 6 to 10 % of their deposits (progresiv rate above a surtant deposit level)
Big theft huh you have to take share the risk of loosing your deposit money (6-10%) with those (other countrys tax payers) that saves you.

I don't want to stone them, but I think it's fair to demand that they (Cyprus) cary a part of the bailout, to me that is not theft or looting it's a gift.
And the taxpayers of EU are not asked spesificaly, but leting Cyprus become a part of the Euro (montary union) sort forces the EU to try saving the Cypriotic economy or let it go.
EU is loosing a lot either way catch 22

cheers

No

If a country needs a bailout it is not the people of that country that need it, it is the government and the banks (who are in bed with the government)

It is not a government theft "angle" it is government theft in every sense of the word.
The countries low tax rates have nothing to do with it going bankrupt, countries with much higher tax rates are also going bankrupt.
Your flawed theory doesn't work in these cases.

When governments spend more than they earn for too long, they go bankrupt (one way or another) I know this is a hard concept for the socialists to understand but generally if you take out more than you put in for long enough, you eventually run out.

So yes the corrupt banks should be allowed to go bankrupt, and all the corrupt politicians (probably all of them) should go to jail.
This won't happen though, the innocent people will get screwed over, again.

Hi SV
I love your in depht knowledge on tax corupted politicans bla bla
in particular your knowledge on how it's the socialist countrys that are the big spenders and not the right wing capitalist countrys hehe
Yeah I agree capitalist privat Cyprus banks should not be bailed out by the socialist EU countrys.
Cyprus is like all the other small taxshelter countrys you usualy love to put up as the real cool liberal miniput states.

we are in agreement let them drown

cheers
