Looks like you had a good turnout, hopefully what you're teaching will benefit people who need the help. Everything looks to be moving along nicely :thumbright:

Good point, I agree too.

First thing I always say in the training session is "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." - Isaac Newton - and then I mention about the contributions of Dr. Mike McMurtry, Dr. James Rakocy, Prof. Dr. MA Salam, and Joel at BYAP forum.

It looks like our AP unit is the biggest commercial Aquaponics installation in India as of today. We are super excited about it. A lot of work to do and a long way to go.

I will continue to contribute and will add value to this forum wherever I can.

Maybe you could share the agenda. We are thinking about offering 1 day workshops to introduce people to AP and tell them what they need to know in order to decide if AP is right for them (as a hobby).....and then if they are referring them to places that are focused on teaching. We are do-ers not teach-ers

Tws... I am just curious to know your background. Do you have an Aquaponics system? Would you share some pictures?

My background is business and is not relevant to AP. I volunteer at a local nonprofit that promotes sustainable living. That is how I learned about AP. I have been growing in soil for years as a way to feed my family and as a hobby. I had to translate all that soil knowledge to AP. My hubby also builds small balcony sized systems as a hobby. On the far SE of Florida most people live vertically so gardening is a challenge. If you want to read more about the nonprofit, you can see their website at togetherwestand.org I blog on and off (mostly off) about the challenges of getting your garden to survive at http://survivalgardens.blogspot.com I find this board a good resource for things like pest control (which is different with AP). The reason I asked about your workshop is that there are places around us that offer how to workshops and they can be pricey. We were thinking of offering something cheap that would just let people know what they would need to learn and about how much the could expect to spend if they wanted to build their own systems. People visit our AP garden and get all excited and then go blow a bunch of money on courses to find out that even with AP they will still have to learn to grow plants and fish....

Twssfl, surely you just need to point them in the direction of this forum, that's where I've learned everything I know about ap. :)
And it's free!!!

So why not start with contributing and adding value to this forum with the documentation you used for your workshops? After all, you were only able to do that with the free information from this forum and the web. We are all anxious here to see what you have made out of it. Or is your English too limited to understand what I ask for?

You have a neat blog. I liked it. Gone over all posts and found one new AP terminology... Sharing it for others... Flood and Drain... Ebb and Flow... never come across Feed and Drain system. :) Good one.

So when do you think to make us happy with your workshop documentation?

Seems like you are very particular on eliciting this info but I really do not know how I can share the entire workshop documentation for your easy reference.

We have another one day AP training workshop scheduled to be on Dec 29th, 2013. It costs only $15. You get a full day (6 hours) power-point training, a site tour (2 hours), a sumptuous lunch (vegetable biriyani) with fresh fried fish (carp-katla), 2 tea, 2 snacks (vada, bajji, samosa, or similar snack), and a small Guide to the Future of Farming written by me. Please see if you can make it.

While seeing the PowerPoint slides would be kewl, I would like to just start with the agenda. Did you do it in Word or something where you could easily copy and paste the text. Or was it not in English......if so, just copy and paste the original and I can run it through google translate to get slightly close.

You can publish the PowerPoint slides here and the same goes for your small Guide. If you need help with that, no problem, enough people here that can and will help you to get it on the forum, for free! And tell me, why should I or anyone else here on the forum pay for your information that you received here and from the web for free?

Hi Paul,

Online learning is different. There are expenses to meet for a comprehensive fact-to-face training and hands-on AP discovery course. There are AP educators who charge $30 per hour for a personal one hour farm visit. We have shown our AP site to 1000+ visitors free of cost. We have also done free training programs for students and their teachers. Some visitors in group take more than 2 hours. Where on earth you would get a full day AP educational program with food and other stuff mentioned above for a meager $15?

On a friendly note, I like your chase all the time since the beginning, wherever I go whatever I post. :)

So, if I understand you correctly, you do not want to share your workshop documentation here for free, although most of the information in there you obtained for free from this forum and other free web sources?

BTW; I'm not chasing you, but keeping a close eye on you. Let's say, you're under surveillance.
