Anyone see these or use these before? Wanted to get your thoughts on these?

I did and pick up a few for my DWC bed.

The inventor is a member. None of us have tried them yet.

We use one inch square cubes, they come in sheets of 98 and each one has a slit running through the centre, the Thais then just put a one inch hole in there raft to hold the sponge cube. Does exactly the same job at a Fraction of the cost.
To seed them you soak them in water,I use a cocktail stick for the next bit,wet the end of the stick touch a lettuce seed which should stick and open the slit slightly and place the seed about half way down, making sure the cubes are wet place them in your propagator for germination. You can have one raft with the holes close together for growing on then move them on to the larger spacings.

In my DWC I have tried the 1" Grow Grips with lettuce, radicchio and spinach seeds. Although the trial is still going with the lettuce and spinach, I have already had brilliant results with the radicchio.

I put 2 seeds in each of 5 GG's, using kitchen paper installed differently in each GG as a wick to draw moisture up to the seeds.

Achieved 80% germination in 48 hours!!!!!

The bonus is that I don't have to transplant a seedling, and risk any transplant shock. In the long run I hope to be able to do that with any seed variety that is suitable for DWC.

Check page 19 of my system thread to see how easy the grow grips are to use. I intend to use them for all my seedlings.

Hi onepower

The 2" Grow Grips in the tube are on 110mm centres. The tubes are 100mm wide.

2 of the DWC's are also on 110mm centres, and the other is in 75mm centres. Just work out the diameter of the plant you are growing, and cut the foam raft accordingly. See page 18 of my system thread for how I made the rafts.

Well, I discovered one possible hazard with my new grow grips.

I bought a box from IceManDude (Western Aquaponics), it arrived quickly and looks good.

It arrived on Thursday. On Friday, we have a cleaning lady that come in and does our house.

Come Sunday, I'm looking around to trial them out on some Tomato cuttings. Can't find the box anywhere.

I end up checking the recycling bin out the front. It'd been thrown in there. I guess it looked like an empty box with insulation inside to protect whatever I ordered...

It's just lucky she wasn't in on bin day.
