Haha... Ahhh I guess I should have spent more than just the 10 mins browsing around, I spend most of the time looking at the aqua section...

Interesting pdf here containing information on Silver Perch, Golden Perch, Murray Cod and Catfish (from this PIRSA site - http://www.pir.sa.gov.au/pages/aquaculture/species_profiles/inland.htm).

BTW.... the link above has instructions on how to build a plywood tank very nicely. Much cheaper (in north america) to build from wood.

Now that is sweet. KE, I hope Athena is in an adventurous mood when she gets that email! With the beach so close, you guys don't need a Swimming pool!

The good news is that the Godess Athena (wife) didn't completly freak out when I got home, well, perhaps just a little bit  . Her main complaint is that she still wants to swim in it. There's actually heaps of info on the web about converting your swimming pool to a pond - just google "swimming ponds" or "pool to pond conversion", there's even a Yahoo group about swimming ponds:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/swimming-ponds/messages/1
(Athena's willing to consider it, but only after the house renovation is finished and the garden around the pool has a bit of attention. That gives me about a year to get my plans organised. I will soon post a few photos on a new thread and get a few of your ideas)
