I suspect that they didn't last more than 3-4 hours...

Rupert's comments got me thinking about my recent fish kill and if maybe my battery back up airpump didn't perform as stated on the package (10 hours on DC minimum) and its failure after 4 hours of a 5 hour blackout was the cause of my fish death so I decided to test it out yesterday.

Happy to report that turned up full bore the BYAP 6V battery back up air pump was still going 11 hours after turning the mains power off and still at a rate that the air bubbles were only just slightly less then under mains power. :cheers:

Over all a good little battery back up and I recommend them :thumbright: , I just needed 3 more for the number of fish I had :upset: happy to report that about 10 medium SP survived the massacre :flower: and are looking very scared in that big old FT by them selves

Hi simo that sucks X2 :support: . got me real focused on a backup system. How many fish did you have number and size in how much water?

Hi Marc, I would have lost about 150 fish ranging from 280mm to 70mm, I will be getting more fish but not until I have moved my FT to accommodate my system redesign.
