So we've got an 8000L poly tank with conical base being run continuously through a large swirl seperator and fine mesh filter. Only got about 5000L of water in it at the moment.
We've got 6 x 650L grow beds or about 4000L worth. Plenty of room to expand. They're on a flood & drain timer set up. One pump goes for 10mins to fill 3 GB's. When they're nearly empty, another pump fills up the other grow beds.
Because it's such a huge tank, you can hardly notice the water level change.
I've been planting seedlings, sowing seeds and we've got the fish sorted (fingers crossed).
It still looks like a building zone but the clean up will have to wait.
We've had it cycling for about 2 months with Koi, goldfish and a few little silver perch.
I'm really enjoying the forum, everyone is so willing to share their photos and information. It's a great help to those of us who are stating out. Thank you.
Here are a few pics of my system

Thanks!

The GBs are made from fibreglass water pipes with marine ply ends.

Getting some trout from Outbackozzie next week.

Also some Barra fingerlings are going in my heated aquarium and should be ready for warmer weather

Hey I finally found your thread :D

I really like those growbeds, can beat the price either.

The only thing I would change is the put the water inlet at the other end of the growbed, so the water has to filter back all the way through the gravel before returning to tank.

Hey, thanks!

The new fish look fantastic. They all arrived safe and healthy. They are some what freaked out by the whole netting experience but hopefully they'll settle in soon.

Exciting stuff

40 big rainbows went into the system last night thanks to Outbackozzie. Sometimes it pays to have a little bit of a whinge!
They are still quite freaked out this morning. How long til they settle in do you reckon?
We had to get the goldies and SP out before adding the trout. They've gone into the aquarium until the tank divider is finished. The best part was seeing hubby get in the 11 degree water to try and catch the last SP!
We've got 50 little Barra fingerlings to pick up next week which will go into the heated aquarium until the warmer weather.
More seedlings to go in today and building a wind break too. The lettuces did not appreciate the 30 knot NW'lys we've had for the last 2 days!
Exciting times
