This is what I'm betting on for sustainable zero energy AP some day, sounds like soon they will make enough power to move an AP pump. Saw another post today about it here:

http://www.fastcompany.com/1775321/comi ... your-house

Here is a lot more info:

One more thing to add to the AP research to-do list! Anyone else intrigued by this?

Thanks for the information Dave. This looks pretty interesting, they still have a long way to go from what I can tell. I didn't see what happened with the CO2 - could be a concern if it just goes into the atmosphere. I also wonder how this compares to just collecting the energy from the methane gas produced through the digestion process.

The neat thing is you immediately have electricity for running a pump. I wouldn't worry about a small AP setup putting CO2 into the atmosphere from fish breathing.

15 watts per square metre. just so happens to be just under an IBC's surface area. An oase PowerJet 400 is 19 w and does 1400 lph.

And look whats on ebay...

I was really wishing some Chinese chap had read the book already and was knocking out the fuel cells for 8 Dollars (inc P&P) each when I searched on the Bay.

Could one use waste to produce electricity and collect gas with a biodigester too? They both require that the waste is in an anerobic environment. Very cool.
