It's a pity that Paul wasn't comfortable, or prepared to divulge more information about his concepts at the time...

But to be fair... he has done so since, along with a lot of other useful information... both on his site and another forum...

Please be clear.... this system is not intended to demonstrate a "commercial" aquaponics model as such...

It's a home based system... designed to trial and determine stocking levels to produce acceptable plant growth... for my benefit...

While perhaps also demonstrating to others... that you just don't need the ridiculous stocking levels that some suggest to produce a lot of vegetables....

It is not complete... with at least another two modules of varying stocking levels... and a few other design components... including filtration modules for both fish and NFT pre-filter....it is a trial system.....

In a commercial system IMO... here in Australia... it would be nonsensical not to;

    Have multiple modules
    Have external filtration, and/or NFT filtration
    Have the ability to isolate the fish and hydro components
    Maximise the value of the fish

And I think Paul and many others would agree that is the direction in which commercial aquaponics will/must head...

Rupe, whats your opinion on the NFT progress when comparing between your previous hydro trials and now fish fueled?

And also, how have you found the root quality on the NFT plants using only media beds to filter?

p.s. nice silver, I missed that one :thumbleft:
