ah yes indeed, well 2m it definitely is not then!

More likely to be about 1.6m actually, yes my fishtank is quite high.

So you're going to need a pump that can deliver 3000L/H @ 1.6mtr head... the pump curve should show you...

I'd suggest that you're probably looking at a 6000L/H pump....

Ask Joel what the Grundfos 6000 is rated at for 1.6mtr of head...

Im using Laguna 3500 which is running around those numbers, I might be lifting only ~ 1.0m so the next model up might be the go for you, just fit a bypass tap in the pump outlet and run some of the water back into sump
Wastes some energy but you have scope to lift water higher or use it to circulate/aerate somewhere in your system. They are fairly efficient pumps
Ive had one fizzer from two purchased, ran for about a week, replaced under warranty no questions, others been running for 2 years straight.

The Laguna 3500 wont do what you are asking and wont pump much at all at 1.6M. I know I have one, and a 6000 and two 9000's. Get a 9000 and you wont look back

The Laguna Max Flo Filter pump 6000 @ 1.5m pumps 3,700l/h which should be plenty I would imagine. My head would only be a bit above that.

uses 80w costing $96 according to creativepumps, which is OK i suppose since my current 3000l uses 60w from memory.

http://thereefshop.com.au/index.php?mai ... ts_id=1115 $215
http://www.reefonline.com.au/shop/produ ... cts_id=390 $219\
http://www.pondsupplies.com.au/pondshop ... -pump.html $224 and $10 postage

also found the following threads on here I need for future reference

The pondsupplies place is the cheapest of the lot including shipping by about $10, anyone had experience with the above?

Ok ordered from the reef shop, the pond supplies one was the wrong pump I linked to, cant edit my post to reflect that.

Snow, I looked at those pumps but figured(hoped lol) the laguna would be better quality and give me a longer life span.
