I must say we are enjoying the ease of the silvers in the swimming pool! We now have about 120 in three different sizes in there- no eating each other is a huge benefit! When we feel like fish we go fishing....year round!

I understand why people like trout... and/or Barramundi...

But if you're not in a location where you can assure both... and are prepared to heat/chill...

Then why bother.... isn't it about growing the veges in the end??

And what's wrong with Silvers anyway...

My new 3000L FT (without fish and uncovered) got up to 27 degrees on Wednesday. I'm glad the trout aren't coming until next week at the earliest!

A good volume of water. Looking at the forecast (if you can believe it) you may come close but a couple of bags of ice should help you keep the temps down should you need to.

The upside of the warm temps (as long as they stay safe) is that that is when you get the most rapid growth ! If we could keep 'em at 20C all winter, they'd all be 800-900g by late October.

How long till they start the famous trout eating fest when you throw food in????
Mine nibble, but dont really go off like everyone raves about.
Would it be the heat, the stress of the move, different food, a mix of all 3?

Varies !

Something about your water chemistry may take adjusting to.

Mine was about two hours. Might have been sooner but had to drive down to see Joel and Faye to get some 3mm pellets after they got delivered.
