yeah, I have been saving the points for years, just transferred them over to frequent flyers from my westpac viase rewards. For the same points I could have cashed them in for a 4 GIG Ipod worth about $450 cause you only get one frequent flyerpoint for every 2 Altitudepoints. The whole thing is a scam. Now I don't know wether to spend an extra $40 and pay for the tickets and save my points. DOH, damn the powers that be!!

Yeah. It's $113 plus points to go business, so I reckon that should be a goer. Even though it's a ripoff with the taxes and charges and all the points, it's still the cheapest way of getting there, and they fly into Tulla, not Avalon. You Melbournites would know, Tulla is easrier to get to (closer to the city) isn't it? Seem to remeber driving past it on the way in about an hour out of town...

Just got to ask for the days off now... shouldn't be a prob though

Yeah, It has its ups and downs, but I generally call the shots!! I actually have to ask my boss though, as Mum and Dad are technically retired, so I don't go to them for admin style issues, but my boss is pretty easy going too, so I should be luaghing. When you said you would be going to the one day course,VB did you mean in Brisbane?

Yep, I'm going to the session in Brisi and the visits the afternoon before. So far it seems to be just Murray and me up here. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I read the material again today and was concerned about how much of the day may be talking about business models etc. The reality is that I don't ever expect to try and make aquaponics into a business - particularly at this point. I am flat out keeping up with work, the family and my unfinished long running Uni degree.

Stu,

Yes melbourne tulla much better than bloody avalon

The NMIT campus is about 15 -20 minutes from the airport, and there are some cheap rooms about 10 Min away, $59 per room 1, 2 or 3 people formule 1 motel.

If you flew in to avalon you'd pay another $80 to $100 in taxi fares

Steve

Thanks Steve,

It must have been Avalon that we drove past on the way in. At the time I thought, what a crappy place for an airport-no wonder the fares are cheap!!

I reckon I'll get a mate of mine to pick me up from the airport. I think he is going to come with me to the Field day, then I'll catch the train or hire a car for a couple of days after that.
