Does this mean we can stop arguing over what makes a commercial system as it has now been defined? :D

I have no problem with anybody making IBC systems and selling them to noobs online.

No problem with doing it for profit.

But not at a rip off price and certainly not making wild claims that it is a commercial system.
I may be reasonably new to AP but claims like this can just lead to giving AP a bad rep.

But hopefully there are those that want to promote AP in a responsible way and that they win out in the end.

Ummm... an IBC costs zero to maybe $100 (if you are a stupid sucker)

A pump costs maybe $150 tops (absolute tops)

A few meters of pvc pip another $15

A few cubic meters of bluestone, granite, crushed rock, scoria or river stones about another $30 (steal it from a roadside storage area).

Water, some seeds or seedlings and some fingerling fish (drag a net or set a drum net in a creek or river).

Should be able to be up 'n running for about $150 to $300 in my opinion.

I think you may need to add in the cost of the fine for using a drum net in the creek. :naughty:

Just as a point of interest, the gravel on the side of the road is a grade that only Main Roads can purchase. So in the unlikely event that they did try and ping you for stealing it, they can prove that you have stolen their gravel.

There was a servo in the north of WA somewhere I was told about where they used the gravel on the side of the road to redo their ground work. Main roads sued them and they couldn't afford the costs so had to shut down.

Pt49 you are welcome to come up here and find me good IBC's for $0 to a $100 and there are many here like me who would welcome you if you could. Suggest you have a good think before you type and not insult a lot of fellow members.

Thanks resevs at the moment still trying to get the RFS back up and running. Been thinking lalely now that I have the plastic welder of fixing the old half tank (10,000 lt) down the back. Have the perfect place for it as a fish pond/ natural swimming pool. Would need a few IBC's for the filter system.

Depending just where you live, those figures are pretty spot on.. IBC's must be common in many places.
The issue is that many who have them can not easily find a market for them..
It is enterprising folk who know HOW to market them, who get to do the deals..
I have know them to be given away free, and I have paid $70 for them.. I would NEVER pay $100 for one unless it was BLACK and perhaps with a stainless cage and food grade..

I only wish that it was practical to ship them up there, but they have such a large volume and that is what would kill the shipping costs..

""(if you are a stupid sucker) "" is likely a little harsh
..
