Construction has just been completed on the second complete system installation.

This was a fairly tricky installation as if was about 50km from the main town centre, so we had to be sure that we had everything on hand ready for the installation.

The truck was hired and packed the night before, and growbed irrigation was all cut to size ready for installation. It was about an hour and a half drive, and by the time we got there in the morning and started to unload ready for construction it was about 10.30.

There was Faye, Monya and myself doing the installation and we had most of the main construction completed by around 3.30. Another couple of hours fiddling with little bits, getting the flows right to the beds, and return pump set correctly, we left the site by around 5.30, with one very happy customer..

We did forget one fitting, a simple 32mm threaded fitting, that the lady who we were installing it for drove down to the local hardware store to get.. And when I say local, I mean she had to do a 60km round trip to get it. :?

The system is a simple 4 bed, flood and drain, with large drain/fingerling tank, and it worked a treat, with very little adjustments of valves from the first time we switched it on..

That's another beauty! Do you have problems with the hydroton floating?

Nice job there. Did Stu do all the work or just pose for the photo's? ;)

Clay balls are looking better and better, I may have to find some in Adelaide by spring time.

nah, she has some raised vegie beds.

hydroton floats on first flood, then settles down. One flood with pulgs in, run to waste after a good soak, then water ran a bit pink, but should settle out nicely IMHO. Certainly a pleasure to work with as opposed to gravel, and if you can afford it, it's a great way to go.

The system isn't Fayes. Fayes system was the first one I built, she was helping to do this second install.

Turn around time for a system like this is about 2-3 days from placement of order at the moment... :)

That's a bloody good turn around time Eb....

Jezz, some people I've dealt with over the last few years have taken a month or more from order to delivery.... and they want your money with order....

Talk about funding someones elses lifestyle or business and then having to sit waiting with a wing and a prayer..... rather buy a lotto ticket
